Startup Grind: Fireside Chat 🔥 with Rachel Watkyn

Startup Grind brings startups, founders and innovators together to connect and learn from one another. To kick off 2022, they’ll be joined by Tiny Box Company’s founder and managing director Rachel Watkyn. Hear how the multi-award winning, eco-entrepreneur set up her company in a bedroom 14 years ago and how her perseverance to ensure the company’s survival through the pandemic became her latest venture.

Brighton JUG: Writing Code is Easy, Being a Great Developer is Hard
Tuesday 18th January | 17:00 – 19:00

New meetup alert! We’re delighted to introduce Brighton JUG which covers the world of Java. At their first meetup, Helen Scott (Keynote Storyteller at MongoDB) will talk about skills rarely taught through traditional educational routes which, combined with writing code, will help make you a great developer.

Brighton R: Speak the Data
Thursday 20th January | 16:00 – 18:00

We’re excited to welcome back Eduardo Contreras Cortes, a regular on the R circuit, as he takes us through his analysis of 2,500+ TED talks using text analytics and machine learning in R to find the factors that make some talks more popular than others. So, if you’re interested in data analysis, come along.

Brighton Data Forum

Brighton Kotlin: Android Architecture Design with Koin
Thursday 27th January | 18:00 – 20:00

If you’re a Kotlin/Android developer wanting to grow your toolkit, then Brighton Kotlin has you covered. Arnaud Giuliani, Lead Android Developer at KotZilla, will be joining our first meetup of the year to talk about Koin, a pragmatic dependency injection framework well known for its ease of use.
